On September 28 Moscow saw the IV annual conference devoted to the issues related to the development and publication of annual reports. SmartScape company became a business partner of the event and joined the team of organisers comprising JSC Business Express Financial Publishing House, Nexia Pacioli Group and Infographer. Representatives of a wide range of Russian companies as well as experts from the team of organisers discussed relevant trends concerning reporting and requirements to the public annual reports.
Dmitry Borodin, Innovation Director at Business Express Financial Publishing House and communications consultant, spoke about unusual designs of annual reports. Guests of the conference found out what visual elements of the report should be paid special attention to and what “fresh” elements can make the report stand out.
Maksim Gorchakov, Head of the Moscow office of Infographer agency, was the one who offered to discuss the design. Maksim shared his experience and knowledge of infographics as information transmission and representation method, revealed all its the benefits and drawbacks and gave some pieces of advice on how to assess the results of the designers’ work. Interactive presentation version of reports represented one more topic to discuss and Maksim analysed both domestic and foreign cases, showed the details worth to be taken into account in order to make an interactive version convenient and ensure that it is consistent with what was intended.
Anton Elizarov, Director at SmartScape, changed the course of discussion having presented information about the world of translation. Guests and organisers learned about translation stages and the ways customers can enhance the translation process efficiency.
Yulia Emelyanova, Deputy Director General, Partner at Nexia Pacioli, made a presentation called “Goal-setting role in efficiency assessment of the sustainable development of the company: View through the lens of reporting”. Yulia clarified whether it is possible to assess the efficiency of the sustainable development and corporate social responsibility and told about the ways to show the results in the public reporting.
Polina Minor, leading specialist of the Investor Relations department at NLMK Group, explained how to minimise the labour costs while developing a report and reduce a completion period. Polina presented for discussion a case from her work showing changes in the approach to the annual report development: from her experience, unified design of separate brochures, provision of unified requests and information processing by colleagues as well as efficient use of information from publications and newsletter of the company allows to significantly reduce the labour costs.
